The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has granted its approval to a request by TransCorp for the extension of the closing date of its initial public offering (IPO). The offer will now end on Thursday, February 15, 2007. The float which opened on December 27, 2006 had been scheduled to close on January 31, 2007. It is common for issuers, that is, companies selling securities, to make an application to the SEC for an extension of the initial closing date of the Application List. In most cases, these applications receive the approval of the regulatory body. Typically, these extensions are granted for two weeks. |
